It's been branched though, and this isn't a patchset I'd feel 
comfortable porting to a release branch, however recent it may be.

Given the lavfi.c change, it might also be for the better not to merge 
this immediately before a release anyway. Who knows what kind of 
unexpected side effects it might have in some edge cases.
So probably for the better this way.
