I prevented Paul from pushing quite a few half-assed patches over the years. More often than not, after a mandatory bullheaded period he would resubmit the patches with the changes I demanded in — a lot of them along the lines “you copypasted that code, you need to refactor it instead”, on occasion acknowledging that my advice made the code better.
