If Michael wants to write everything from scratch to learn and discover rather than just adding tidbits here and there to an existing project, that is entirely understandable. FFmpeg was made by somebody who wanted to write everything from scratch to learn and discover, after all, and at no point was it decided “no more, now we serve the interests of our sponsors and everything else is ‘out of scope’”. If Michael wants to work within the framework of FFmpeg and its signal processing features rather than within the framework of Python, that is entirely understandable too. -- Nicolas George
