Hi
Trac allows users to vote for tickets, should we bump tickets priority
to important once they surpass some threshold of votes ?
Should there be a difference betweem defects and enhancements ?
Heres the list of tickets sorted by the number of votes
https://trac.ffmpeg.org/report/11
Thanks

I think that if Trac ticket priority is to be used, it should first be
working. Currently, if you try to vote on a ticket, a `500 Internal
Server Error` occurs in the background.
I don't think that popularity of a ticket always indicates priority or
urgency. Security bugs are a good example... Not something most users
know or care about but can have huge implications if not patched.

it seemed to work when i tryied but it seems trac needs some adjustments and
tuning and maintaince. It seems not configured optimally

This suggestion was not supposed to mean that this would be the only
way to set priority. But an additional input. Meaning if more than X
users want something then it would be important.
thx

i could replicate this, you can work around it by simply opening the vote
link in a new window (as on right click on it and open in new tab works)
i have no time to investigate this ATM, but if someone knows what the
cause is i can apply a fix if its clean

Homeopathy is like voting while filling the ballot out with transparent ink.
Sometimes the outcome one wanted occurs. Rarely its worse than filling out
a ballot properly.

We are a project of volunteers, not a company where your boss can demand
you to work on things important to users (but not you). If individual
devs want to take user priorities into account, they (already) are free
to do so, but if not, that should not be seen as a problem.
