I am reaching out to request the addition of support for the Cineon log transfer function in FFmpeg, specifically for the DPX files that use this format. Currently, while FFmpeg supports other transfer functions like gamma 2.2 or 2.4-Rec709, there is no option to correctly specify Cineon log for color grading and restoration purposes when processing DPX images. As part of a film restoration project, I work with DPX files that are encoded with Cineon log gamma, and it would be extremely beneficial to be able to work with these files natively in FFmpeg, preserving the intended color characteristics for accurate post-production. Is it possible to consider adding an option for Cineon log in the -color_trc parameter, or perhaps any other solution that would allow FFmpeg to correctly interpret and handle these files for professional restoration workflows? Thank you for your time and consideration. I greatly appreciate the work that the FFmpeg team has done in advancing open-source video processing, and I look forward to your response.
